At the meeting with producer Vladimír Sabadoš we learned about two graduate films being made at FAMU. It is a bachelor graduate film by Marína Hnidková and a master graduate feature film by director Pavel Hirjak. Both films are very specific and exceed the FAMU assignment in terms of difficulty. I chose their projects because they are two ambitious films that communicate important themes in an audience-appealing way. Marín's film, entitled JARMO, tells the story of a father and son and the problem of communication between them in the environment of the High Tatras. Pavel's film - The Last Season - is a feature film, which is co-produced with our production company Inframe pictures. It is being produced as an ultra low budget film, where we are making a feature film on a short film budget. It is a story of young people coming of age, living the last three days of summer vacation. It's a story of defying prejudice to fight for their future.
