We supported the film adaptation of R.U.R.
In May, students from the Miroslav Ondříček Film Academy in Písek shot a student film. It is a film adaptation of Karel Čapek's book R.U.R. It deals with the threats of technological progress and different views on artificial intelligence. Unlike the original adaptation, the author approaches the story from a feminist perspective. The director is Klára Jurečková, a fourth-year student of feature film at the Film Academy. The film requires demanding expressive and artistic scenography and the construction of an entire studio for filming, as well as very distinctive costumes for all the characters. The cast in the leading roles consists of Terezie Hájková, Filip Staněk, and Marie Machová. The film should be completed in November this year.
