THE JIRI MENZEL FOUNDATION HAS HELD ITS FIRST FIVE CHARITY EVENINGS.

Although we are a relatively young foundation, this year we have already held the fifth charity evening of the Jiří Menzel Foundation. Once again, it took place in the Fanta Hall at Prague’s Main Train Station.
An integral part of the evening is the auction of donated works of art and vouchers. The proceeds go to the fund, which we use to help performing artists who have fallen on hard times due to health issues, while also supporting projects by film school students. We would like to achieve even greater generosity in the future—and we continue to seek ways to secure more stable income.
Marek Eben hosted the evening, titled “From the Station to Vesnička,” and also served as the auctioneer. The total proceeds from the auction reached 1,080,000 CZK.
As is tradition, we also presented the Arnoštka Award. This year, actress Jitka Zelenohorská and actor Rudolf Hrušínský Jr. received the award from Olga Menzelová and Jiří Pačinek.
Among the guests were our partners, friends, and colleagues of Jiří Menzel—such as János Bán, Oldřich Vlach, Petr Brukner, Pavel Nový, Pavel Kříž, Alfréd Strejček, Dáša Zázvůrková, and Martina Preissová.
The following photos will hopefully give you at least a glimpse of the evening’s atmosphere.
