Zdeněk Dušek

The face of actor, dubber and director Zdeněk Dušek is well known from films, television series and theatre. But age (82) sometimes brings various health problems, so the NFJM team decided to help this actor. Here are a few snippets from his life.  Z. Dušek graduated in acting at the Academy of Performing Arts (1965). His first theatre engagement was at the Municipal Theatre in Příbram. Then he played in the Prague club theatre Maringotka, performed in the Drama Studio in Ústí nad Labem, and in 1979 he settled permanently in Prague, where he changed several scenes (Theatre in Řeznická, Theatre Na okraji, Theatre Rokokoko, Theatre Na zábradlí, etc.). He has played over fifty roles in film. He has also frequently collaborated with Slovak directors, for example with Juraj Jakubisk (DOVIDENIA V PEKLE, PRIATELIA, POSTAV DOM, ZASAĎ STROM, TISCICROČNÁ VČELA, BETTER TO BE WELL AND HEALTHY THAN POOR AND SICK). Zdeněk Dušek's most important film performance was the role of the rude Mr. Barták in the film SMRADI (2002), for which he was nominated for the Czech Lion. His wife was the actress Jana Březinová.
